May 12th, Wednesday
Authors Narrye Caldwell L.Ac. and Ted Mancuso appeared for a book signing at Gateways bookstore in Santa Cruz, California. Attended by about 20 this was the first book store viewing for Blossoms in the Spring. Just about everyone in the audience had practiced Qigong before so they raised some interesting questions. After a few comments on the history and principles of Qigong, people participated in single and partner exercises. One man reported, “You know your stuff, I could really feel that.” Members of the audience included Qigong practitoners, Yoga devotees and acupuncture students. Narrye gave a very clear and interesting breakdown on what exactly the “Five Branches” of Chinese medicine entailed.
At one point the inevitable question, “What is the difference between Yoga and Qigong?” was asked. What would you say to this?
One listener had developed a strong interest in utilizing qi while painting, just as the Chinese masters had discovered centuries ago.
People learned a “portable” version of the Blossoms in the Spring.
